We went for the AIO 3. The AIO 3 speaker comes with a power cord and remote control, allowing you to change sources, volume, and balancing high and low frequencies.

Through the app, you can set up a multiroom system with other Triangle speakers but there’s no way of doing it through Google Home or Apple Home. What that means is that you can’t mix and match devices, you’ll need to buy a few of these or some of Triangle’s other Wi-Fi speakers to make use of multiroom. That also means you won’t be able to control this by voice using a separate smart speaker. The AIO 3 is equipped with Bluetooth and WiFi technology enabling music streaming from phones, tablets and computers with connective ease.The remote control enables adjustment of treble and bass and an EQ reset to restore Triangle’s ‘flat’ response. What you get from the AIO 3 is a ‘good plus’ sound, but for the money, the clientele, and the competition, ‘good plus’ is exceptional. the AIO 3’s main strength is its midband clarity and speed. This comes across best when playing something like ‘Come Down’ by Anderson .Paak [ Malibu, Empire]; his voice is usually somewhat swamped by the rest of the mix (in particular that insistent hi-hat and funky bass line), but here it’s pushed to the fore, very articulate, and rhythmic. Granted, the midrange clarity does cut through the mix because the top and bottom end of the music are more recessed here, but it also cuts through the innate compression slapped on that album. Often at this level of equipment, you hear the lose-lose of a curtailed frequency response with a muted midrange. The Triangle system works from the midband out, which is always a good sign in any system. The AIO3 is part of Triangle’s AIO series, a speaker with multi-room capabilities that also supports Bluetooth, Internet radio and Hi-res audio streaming, serving as an all-in-one speaker. The AIO 3 competes almost head on with devices from Bose and Sonos, which are priced above and below the AIO 3. These two brands dominate this market to the extent where there are only two ways to compete; go for a different approach, or go out of business. Triangle went for the different approach, and it’s one I think will work well.

There’s just so much to discover that I found I was unearthing new features every day during the review period. One which particularly appealed, as a former radio broadcaster, was the TuneIn internet radio station access. This had me entertained for hours and I really enjoyed being able to listen in such good quality to broadcasts from near and far so easily. While the AIO‌ system doesn’t support as many streaming services as some other systems or have a wide selection of speakers to choose from, it’s easy to use and sounds amazing for what it is. AN AUDIO VIDEO UNIVERSE

There’s a decently spacious soundstage here, too, even before you turn on the 3D sound setting within the app. The powerful drums on Royal Blood’s Honeybrains aren’t drowned out by the aggressive guitars, and the vocals have plenty of room to breathe. The mid-range is suitably impactful, while not dominating the mix. Individual elements avoid tripping over each other too.
