About this deal

otherwise apply when there is at least 5,000 km to go before the next oil change so that CERA TEC has plenty of time in which to have an effect Best Line is a premium additive that coats all the metal surfaces with a protective layer, which reduces engine noise and wear. It is a 100% synthetic formula that is compatible with all motor oils. Using an oil additive has many benefits that include a quieter and smoother engine that runs more smoothly with an increase in fuel economy too. Unlike other additives, the recommendations within this article deliver results and are not fake claims. As an engine begins to age, debris and sludge can buildup, which can cause performance issues. Using an oil additive will help remove and move the debris away from metal surfaces. This will also help the potential of corrosion to exist. How Often Should You Use It?

There's a friendly debate going on over at BIMRS as to which oil of choice for the N55 engines. Some use the regular LL-01 5-40. I use the Liqui Moly Special Tech 5-30, along with a can of MoS2. CERA TEC offers high mechanical and thermal stability, ensuring outstanding lubrication even under the toughest conditions. Engine and transmission noise are reduced. Liqui Moly Cera Tec is a highly rated and popular oil additive on a global scale that is designed to reduce friction and wear within the engine. This is made possible by the ceramic compound, which can withstand high thermal and chemical loads.Cera Tec is an oil additive that significantly reduces wear and tear and protects the engine, even in the case of an oil loss. It is effective up to 30,000 miles. Less wear and tear means fewer problems with worn-out parts and that means a longer engine lifetime.” Do you have any evidence to prove Cera Tec actually makes a difference to preserving an engine? On the vehicle distortion test bench the test oil was mixed with 6 per cent Cera Tec. With each test sequence the weight, and thereby the force level, on the sensitive transmission gear wheels was increased. The aim of the experiment is to reach the damage force level. This level is reached when the sum of all damage caused to the teeth of the gear wheels is more than 20 millimeters. The test is then ended. The reference oil came up to damage force level 4; the oil mixed with Cera Tec reached as far as level 9, hence to more than double the level. «Cera Tec markedly increases the power reserve, which confirms the anti-wear protection by the fine ceramic particles,» is how Dipl.-Ing. Peter Kunz, who supervised the test, summarizes the results. Kunz’s initial skepticism gave way: After the tests I was amazed. The product has made everything, and I really mean everything, better.» Despite the abuse the lubricant had gone through, there weren’t any noticible drop of the oil’s preformance which I base it on; oil tempreture, smoothness of engine during acceleration and quietness of the engine at idling.

Firstly I would caution you that it might not be good for the spark plugs if you have a petrol car, although that possible side effect seems fairly minimal. Secondly some of the engineers and chemical engineering chaps here in Germany have said that although the UOA results show an improvement in wear metals, it does nothing for cylinder head wear or carbon deposit issues, so if you use it about every 25K km (It doesn't seem to last as long as advertised) longterm, your engine will eventually fail because of valve seating or other top end problems rather than ring or bearing wear. CERA TEC is a suspension based on a microceramic solid lubricant and chemical active agents in mineral oil. This combination reduces friction and protects the engine and transmission against wear. This in turn prevents expensive repairs and prolongs the life of the assemblies. There is nothing worse than having a product that promises so much but delivers so little. However, investing into a quality additive for your oil can see a range of benefits and all our recommendations do as they promise. If you need to add anti wear additives because your present oil has a low TBN or you are using some kind of supermarket dino oil that does not already contain a good balance of additives then Ceretec is a better choice. If you add too much Moly it upsets the way the different additives function.

He feels as I do: Keeping the rings clean & floating is paramount to overall engine health. Even the smallest amount of oil getting into the combustion chamber during compression/firing will lower the octane significantly. Older engines in particular can benefit hugely from using an oil additive. They can still be used in modern engines but due to the complexity on these engines, modifying the chemical formula of the overall oil may effect the performance. To help you make an informed buying decision, we have produced the below buying guide regarding oil additives. In terms of using the Liqui Moly Cera Tec, you simply pour it straight into the oil because it is a self-mixing formula (as shown in the main image). Once it has mixed with the oil, the brand claim it will protect the engine for up to 50,000 KM. Yes. A clean injector lasts longer because every contamination increases wear and tear in the injector.” For the Leichtlauf oil change last weekend, I used 1 1/2 cans of the Liqui Moly Pro-Line Engine Flush prior as instructed. So far, I am happy to report my oil consumption is way down - like 75% less than before.

Oils, additives and cleaners

Following up on my long writeup on how to clean your rings using either the BG EPR and/or L-M engine flush which has worked marvelously for us recently I for one usually proceed cautiously. I'd be very reluctant to "overdose" any cleaner into an engine. Yes the flush is good for 5L. I would only add an additional 1/2 of a can. You can always do another cleaning on the next oil change. Having used others chemicals in the past with mixed (read some good, some BAD) results. Cleaning coked up rings should be approached slowly. I fear if overdosing might bring harm to things like valve stem seals and or other seals in/on the engine. Investing into a quality oil additive can completely transform the way your engine performs. However, it can also be used in a range of other oils that include automatic transmission fluid, differential oil, power steering systems and others. Can you really save money by spending it on the right oils, additives and cleaners? We ask the experts at LIQUI MOLY on what products to buy.
